Catholicate Higher Secondary School is one of the oldest and most famous schools in Central Travancore. The School has been able to present many successful personalities, not only to India but also to the world. This great School marks 91 years of teaching and learning.The school was started during the reign of His Holiness Baselios Geevarghese 2nd, Catholicose of Malankara Orthodox Church. The effort was completed in 1931 as a result of the hardwork of Puthencavil Kochu Thirumeni. The early school was on the site of what is now Catholicate college. With the establishment of the Catholicate college in1952, the Catholicate School was relocated to its present location. In 1998, it was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School. Former Thumpamon Diocesan Metropolitan H.G Daniel Mar Philoxinos Thirumeni was an eminent science teacher and headmaster at the school. The current Bishop of Thumpamon Diocese, H.G Kuriakose Mar Clemis Thirumeni was also one of our former teacher. About 1500 students are studying here in class 5 to 12. Now Mr. Jacob George serves as our Principal and Mrs Gracen Mathew as our Headmistress.
